IND vs AUS: It Was A Tight Series Against A World Class Side Like India – Aaron Finch

Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli proved to be the heroes as India defeated Australia in the third and final T20I of the series which was played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad on September 25, 2022. The Indian team was set 188 runs target to win and got to the target with one ball to spare and six wickets in hand.
The Men in Blue started off on a poor note as KL Rahul got out to Daniel Sams for 1 and then Rohit Sharma was caught by Sams off Pat Cummins for 17 runs. But it was the 104-run partnership for the third wicket between Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli, which brought into the match, and then Kohli ended up taking India near to victory, while Hardik Pandya finished the match.

Speaking at the post-match ceremony, Australia skipper Aaron Finch said, “Really good series. The way we fought back was fantastic. Really with a young player like Green have such an impact. We had to get wickets, can’t beat India by containing.
At times we were sloppy with bat and ball, but playing a tight series like this against a World Class side is going to keep the guys in good stead. I loved the way he took the game on with his ultra-aggressive approach,” Finch concluded.

Match Highlights
Suryakumar hammered 69 in 36 balls with 5 fours and as many sixes, while Kohli batted till the last over, scoring 63 runs in 48 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes, as India won the match in the last over with 6 wickets in hand. Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 25 in 16 balls.

Australia had made 186/7 with Cameron Green making 52 in 21 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes to his name and Tim David who made 54 in 27 balls with 4 sixes and 2 fours.
India will now play three T20Is and three ODIs against South Africa before the T20 World Cup in 2022.
