By Suryagni Roy: Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Saayoni Ghosh has issued a notice of defamation to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Saumitra Khan over a derogatory remark made by the BJP leader against Ghosh.
Saumitra Khan had said that Saayoni has an “illicit relationship with Kuntal Ghosh”. Kuntal Ghosh is currently under ED custody in the teachers’ recruitment scam.
“Sharing legal notice issued to Saumitra Khan for his defamatory statements made in public domain on 3rd Feb 2023, demanding a public apology failing which I will exercise my legal right in the criminal & civil court of law,” tweeted Saayoni Ghosh.
As per the notice, the remark made by the BJP leader on a news channel was also carried out on various online portals. The statement was incorrect and was made to “tarnish” the image of the TMC leader, who was also surprised and shocked to see the statement made by Saumitra Khan.
