The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) declared the new boys’ hostel and C block of the NID as a micro containment zone. An AMC official said, “All academic teaching and administration work is called off for now. From Monday, health department teams of AMC will go inside NID to take samples and conduct screening tests. Everyone will be tested. Suspicious people will be quarantined and treated immediately.”
Meanwhile, Gujarat recorded 37 new cases on Sunday. Out of these, 34 were recorded in Ahmedabad. Jamnagar and Vadodara registered one case each while one was reported in rural Gujarat.
