Himachal Pradesh Congress MLAs Pawan Kajal and Lakhvinder Singh Rana on Wednesday joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a few months ahead of the state assembly polls.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, along with the two recently joined former Congress MLAs, met the BJP National President JP Nadda at his residence on Wednesday afternoon.

This development comes hours after Congress removed Pawan Kajal as working president of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee and appointed Chander Kumar in his place.
The Congress is striving to oust the BJP and wrest power in the hill state where assembly elections are due at year-end.
Meanwhile, nearly two weeks after resigning from the Congress, former Gujarat minister Naresh Raval and former Rajya Sabha member Raju Parmar joined the BJP earlier today, in a major jolt to the grand old party.
Both leaders were associated with the Congress for decades. State BJP chief C R Paatil welcomed them into the party by offering them saffron scarves and caps. A large number of their supporters also joined the ruling party.
The Gujarat assembly elections are also due by the end of this year.
