New Delhi: Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) on Sunday said that it has sold 6,055 units in the domestic market in July 2021 registering a growth of 12%.
The company had dispatched 5,383 units in July 2020 in the domestic market. The exports stood at 918 units in the last month, the company said in a release.
According to Rajesh Goel, Sr. Vice President and Director, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd the company has achieved production ramp-up from last week of July and has streamlined supplies in line with market activity.
“Barring a few locations, dealer outlets were mostly operational last month, albeit with lesser capacity. The market sentiment has improved amidst prevailing lower COVID infection rate and we expect the upcoming festive period will help the industry to maintain this momentum. However, we will keep a closer watch on the challenges related to pandemic and rising cost of acquisition of cars due to price hike from this month.” Goel added.
The company had registered 5,383 units in domestic sales in the corresponding period last year amidst COVID led operational restrictions. The export numbers stood at 282 in July 2020.
