Ather Energy opens 2 more experience centers in New Delhi – ET Auto

In July this year, the EV maker inaugurated its tenth experience centre at Lajpat Nagar in New Delhi.

New Delhi: Bengaluru-based electric scooter maker Ather Energy on Wednesday said it has opened two more experience centers ‘Ather Space’ in Janakpuri and Gujranwala Town in New Delhi. It has partnered with PPS Group for both the experience centers.

In July this year, the EV maker inaugurated its tenth experience centre at Lajpat Nagar in New Delhi.

With three showrooms, Delhi becomes the only other city to have multiple Ather Space after Bengaluru. The Ather 450X and Ather 450 Plus will be available for test rides and bookings at these Ather Spaces, a company statement said.

Ravneet Phokela, chief business officer, Ather Energy, said, “Delhi was always a priority market for us. We had anticipated the demand that we would see from this city and were overwhelmed after the launch of our 1st experience center here. Consumers have evolved and are now aware of the benefits of going electric. High awareness, increasing density of charging infrastructure is all leading to high sales in this region.”

“With the festive season kicking in and three retail outlets, we are positive to clock in the highest sales from the Delhi region,” he said.

The new Ather Space is designed to educate customers about electric vehicles while providing a holistic experience in an interactive space. Ather Space is well equipped to provide a unique ownership experience along with complete service and support for the owners, Ather said.

The EV maker inaugurated its first experience centre in Bengaluru in June 2018 and later expanded its base with a bigger experience centre in Chennai. Earlier this year, Ather expanded its presence across Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kochi, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad.

The company sells two electric scooters- Ather 450X and 450 Plus. The ex-showroom price post FAME- II revision for the Ather 450X is INR1 32,426 and INR 113,416 for the Ather 450 Plus in Delhi.

Ather Energy has also set up 23 fast-charging points ‘Ather Grid’, across Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad. The fast-charging points in Delhi are available in locations like Green Park, Adarsh Nagar, Rohini, Kamlanagar, Dilshad Garden, Krishna Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, and Connaught Place.

The emerging market and industry trends are heralding a new beginning. And it’s electric! With the falling battery prices, electric bike prices are becoming comparable to their petrol counterparts in terms of operating cost. Efforts at charging infrastructure, battery swapping and localisation of parts also are gaining momentum.
